Newbie with it's seems like ALWAYS bad news!
This is Angie Jason's wife. Hello to everyone! I think this is a great way to let everyone know what's going on in peoples lives.
To start Jason is back in the hospital again as of last night. They are going to do his second ablation tomorrow around noon. Hopefully this will fix it. The meds he was sent home on obviously didn't work. Please keep us in your prayers. We need all we can get.
On a HAPPIER note: Hunter is doing good! He has a little reflex that he needs to grow out of but other then that he's doing wonderfully! I promise to post pics as soon as our life gets a little back to normal whatever that is.
Congrats to Amber on the new baby she's beautiful! Also congrats to Ashley on the engagement!!! At least some of the Heckber's are having good luck! We will keep you informed on Jason's progress. Love Angie

Do you know who Johann George Sorg is???
If any of you are interested in your heritage from Grandma's side of the family check out this website!!! I would have attached it but it is pretty overwhelming. This is the most info I have found so far all in one spot. The family tree begins with Johann Sorg b. 1775, which for me is the farthest back I have been able to come up with so far. Johann Sorg is the father to Heinrich Sorg who is the father of Peter Sorg who is the father of Edward Sorg who is the father of Velma. What is great about this is the birth and death dates and also burial locations. I highly recommend checking it out and printing it off to keep. The only down side is it looks like it was recorded twenty years ago or so. The good side is all those not recorded could be easily added. Let me know what you think!!

Double date

Ashley, Dustin, Darrenn and I went on our first double date. We all had a great time. We met at this little bar and grill in Huntington then we went to the Haunted Hotel. They didn't think it was very scary, but I let out a few screams!!! Especially when the clown was following us!!! The whole thing was 3D and we had to wear the special glasses. It was pretty cool. Thanks Ash and Dustin for a fun night.

Good News and then the bad news........

I'll start with the good news first! Tom and I went down to see Brian, Kelly and the girls on Friday and came home Saturday. We decided to stay at a hotel with a pool so the girls could come over and go swimming and they had a great time! While they were swimming, it gave us a chance to catch up with Brian & Kelly!
I had told Sarah & Angie we were going to Kentucky Friday and not coming back until Saturday evening, so please don't plan any "crisis" while we are gone. Well, needless to say, Angie called about 2:00 pm and said she was taking Jason back to the hospital because his heart was racing again. (We left Kentucky and headed to Lutheran where we have our own designated parking place (ha!) When he arrived at the hospital, his heart rate was 224. They immediately started IV's and gave him LOTS of medication to get it down. The cardiologist came to see him and admitted him and said that he would need another cardiac ablation done (the first one only cost $72,.000). Jason asked if he could wait until Friday so he would only have to miss one day of work. So the doctor put him on oral medication until Friday when he will have the procedure done again. He spent the night in the hospital and was going to be released this morning. The doctor came in at 6:30 am and released him, however, when the nurse came in and took his blood pressure she said she was going to call the doctor- his blood pressure was low from all the medication. He didn't get to leave as soon as he would have liked to, but did get home late this morning. Please keep Jason, Angie and the family in your prayers!
At least I did start with some good news this time!

Vote For Cody!!!!
This is one of those times when it pays to have a large family. Cody's Graphic Design class was asked to submit t-shirt designs for a contest that WBCL is having. The radio station will be handing these t-shirts out during the holidays to those that bring them a ham during their collection days which will benefit a local food bank. Cody would like to ask any of you out there to please log on to WBCL.org and click on the contest link and then the voting link. Hopefully you think his is the best, however, we are family and even if you don't, please vote for it anyhow:) There are five to choose from, his would be the 3rd one down. The circle you click on to pick the one you want is very small and to the bottom left of his design. After you look you'll know what I'm talking about, it's the one with the chef's hat. First prize is a lot of Ossian ham, he says if he wins this could be very beneficial at Christmas time!!! Thanks for voting!!

Kids Busy Weekend
This past weekend Cody and Kyle took a trip to West Virginia with our youth group and Hope Missionary from Bluffton. They went white water rafting, hiking, etc. Sounds like they had a pretty good time. Neither one had ever done anything like that before.
Brenna had an all-nighter with Campus Life over the weekend also. They started out at Glenbrook, then Chuckie Cheese, then ended up at the Plex (not sure if that's the right name) anyhow they all had Monday off school and pretty much slept the whole day. Whatever happen to roller skating parties?
I am still looking for the following info for the Heckber Directory:
Ethan and Sarah's address & home #
All of U. Mike & Julie's info
All of U. Tom & A. Pam's info (you are off the hook since we already talked about it, I can get it when I get U. Tom's album)
U. Gene & Karol's address & do you want your home # included? And what about U. Gene's album, let me know.
Thanks for all the info, I plan on having these to hand out at Christmas, which by the way, am I suppose to book my church this year? If so, when?

Hello to all!!!
I received a letter today from Parkview Home Health Hospice inviting our family to a celebration of the lives of those they have cared for in the past year.
This will be held at the Rome City United Methodist Church, 297 Washington St, Rome City on Tuesday, October 28th at 6:30 p.m. Mom's nurse Linda Yoder wrote a note on the bottom of the invitation that said "Hope to see you and the family".
They have asked for stories, poems or photo's of Mom and need them to be submitted by Tuesday, October 21st. These can be mailed to P.O. Box 728, Kendallville, IN 46755. I will be sending in the poem Kris wrote for Grandma, the photo we used on her memorial cards and a family picture. If you have anything else to add please send to the address listed and be sure to include a note with Mom's name and your name so they know who to return them to.
If anyone wants to have dinner afterward, I know a good restaurant in the area. Just let me know.

Save the date...
We have officially set our wedding date - April 4, 2009. Only 6 months away!! I bought my gown last weekend:) And I also picked out the bridesmaid dresses. The color is called watermelon, but it looks like fuschia. My sister and Amy both looked beautiful in the color! The wedding is going to be at Hope Missionary Church on Dustman Road in Bluffton and the reception at Lighted Gardens. So, I've got the big things out of the way, now it is time to take care of the little stressful things! Lol!
And I am so happy that Taylor and Reid said yes to being my flower girl and ring bearer! Thank you Nikki and Amy for allowing them to be in the wedding, we are so excited! They are going to be such a hit together! Reid told Nikki that he wanted to get to know Dustin, Taylor and I a little better before the wedding. So, Dustin and I took the two of them to my church's fall festival last Wednesday. The first ride that Taylor and Reid both spotted was the huge Titanic slide. So we stood in line for about 5 or 10 minutes, then at the last minute Taylor decided it was a lot bigger than she thought so she didn't go. But Reid was brave! I caught a picture of him on his way down. Taylor then went on a pony rode while Reid and Dustin played a baseball game. It was pretty chilly that night so Dustin and Reid opted to stand by the fire while Taylor and I went on a hay ride. She loved it! The last activity the kids did was face painting. Taylor got a rainbow and Reid got a Purdue symbol. To top the night off, we took them to Dairy Queen for a treat. They had such a great time and got along so well! We would love to take them out again, we had a very good time!! Thanks for letting them go with us!!

We Are Home!!
We made it safely home on Thursday. Then to Chicago to Joe Wyss's wedding. We just made it back home. I hope Jason and everyone else is finally doing well. Quite a scare, I am sure. Now, it is back to work and a life of reality.
October weekend
Well my first time here and I get to read about heart ablations and look at pictures out of a medical book...it's like being at work.. ooooh. Sorry to hear about the boo boos hope everyone is feeling better.
Sooo for a happier note. Gene, Clay and I went to visit Ross at Purdue for a late b-day celebration. Ross pledged a fraternity, Sigma Nu. We went by the fraternity, took him out to dinner, went to a local park where the original ice cream custard stand is and had ice cream and cake, then walked the campus. Walking between buildings we came upon a hawk sitting on the corner of a building. Totally uninterested in us, we were able to stand a couple of feet under, view, and discuss him when he flew directly over our heads swooped down, around a stone walkway, a foot off the ground and grabbed a mouse behind a fence under a tree. It was probably 2oo feet away from where he was perched and just in front of where we were headed. We were amazed, coolest thing ever. He then picked up the mouse and flew away to wherever hawks go to dine. We then came home to find a lovely surprise thought you would enjoy these photos.
Loving this site great way to stay in touch.

Here we go again........
Well, for those of you have not heard- Jason was in the hospital in CICU. He was admitted Saturday night with heart palpitations. When he arrived at the hospital, his heart rate was 208. They said had he waited much longer, there was a good chance he would have had a stroke. They immediately tried to get his heart rate down with medication, but each time it went back up again. After finally giving him an IV medication, his rate came down. However, they admitted him to the Coronary Intensive Care to monitor his medication and to call in a consult with a cardiologist. The cardiologist, after doing some tests, diagnosed him with an accesory pathway (in the electrical system of his heart) and said he would need a cardiac ablation. (A procedure where they went in, found the accesory pathway and cauterized it.) He had the 3 hour procedure done on Monday and was taken back to the CICU until they could remove the 6 catheters and had to lay in bed for 6 hours after the procedure. He was dismissed Tuesday morning. The doctor said there was only 1-2 percent chance that he would ever have this problem again. He is doing well and will be able to go back to work Thursday.
One of these days, I hope to be posting some GOOD news! Pam

For all you doubters...
Just want to let everyone know the Rayna got a good review on her first midterm for preschool. Despite popular opinion, she's wonderful at school. To quote the teacher, "she is observant of school rules and manners and plays cooperatively with others." So, I guess we may have to think about retiring the "devil child" nickname!
Brooklynn and Reid are doing great too! Hope everyone else's kids are off to a great start. Oh, and just in case you hadn't heard, after 10 years of teaching grades 3-5, I am tackling this year at first and second grade. It's soooo different! I'm still working out the kinks, but each week is a bit smoother. We'll see how things go....

Nova Scotia
Hello to all from Truro, Nova Scotia.
I just wanted to let you all know we are having a great time.
Everything is beautiful. We actually went to the beach of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
We also crossed the 8 miles long Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island.
We drove to Green Gables...the 100 year anniversary of the book 1908-2008.
I have only purchases a couple more coffee mugs....Steve is a trooper!
I will try to add more later. We will be here at least one more night.
Then we are heading back, maybe via ferry, to Fort Ticonderoga, NY.
Not sure when we will get home. Looks like the cousins night was a hit!
I will sure try to make the next one!
Love to all,
Kathy

Broken wrist update

Well, here it is. The first picture is my X-ray. You can see the plate and screws in my wrist, pretty cool! The second picture is of my incision, not cool, but rather disgusting. The third is me being bored waiting for my Doctor to put my cast on, so I decided to capture the moment of me and my wrist!! The final picture is my lovely new cast that will be a part of me for 4 weeks. What a fun experience this has been.
